We had a very pleasant stay in Plaza Paitilla Inn. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff was always very pleasant. The buffet breakfast included was very good, with a great selection of items.
Our best experience was having met JUAN DOUGLAS, our taxi driver/ tour guide. He took us on a tour of the Casco Viejo, visiting some of the older churches, the plazas, and just walking around the old city. Then drove along the Av Amador causeway, all the time telling us about the history of Panama, the US presence while building the Panama Canal. Eventually after driving through different areas we arrived at the Panama Canal to see 2 catamarans and a small oil tanker pass through the canal and see it in operation. Juan knew exactly at what time to visit the canal. Next day Juan took us to a shopping mall near the hotel, picked us up and then came back for us when it was time to leave for the airport. What a pleasant, knowledgeable and very respectful gentleman.
If you are ever in Panama City, I would highly recommend asking for JUAN DOUGLAS to take you on a tour of the City and the Canal, or just drive you where you need to go.
